A summary of the summer GIS in Transportation webcast is now available here. The webcast speaker was Dr. Sharon Osowski, Ph.D., Ecologist in the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Region 6. Dr. Osowski presented on the EPA's development and use of Integrated Environmental Planning tools, including the Regional Eco-Logical Assessment Protocol, the GIS Screening and Analysis Tool, and the National Environmental Policy Act Assist tool, all of which help evaluate the ecological impacts of proposed transportation projects.

Please join the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for its 12th installment in a quarterly series of webcasts highlighting applications of geospatial technologies in transportation. The webcast will take place on Wednesday, November 2nd, from 2-3 PM (EDT). The speakers are Chris Zajac, Principal Engineer-Planning, of the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) and Bud Luo, Ph.D., Project Manager, of Michael Baker Jr., Inc. They will discuss developing a web 2.0 traffic monitoring system (TMS) that helps NJDOT and system users monitor and manage traffic conditions.
