Description: | Delaware DOT (DelDOT) and other state and local agencies in Delaware are developing a joint ArcGIS Online site. The site will support agency staff to more easily consolidate, share, and visualize a range of data, including transportation and environmental information. The agencies are currently working to create and implement an enterprise GIS structure and to formalize data maintenance processes for the site. DelDOT expects the ArcGIS Online site will: (1) reduce data collection redundancies; (2) improve data quality through its standardized dataset framework; and (3) increase efficiency by allowing users to visualize information in new ways.

5 | Practice: | State ArcGIS Online Site |
Subject Area: | GDC | |
State: | Delaware | |
Organization: | Delaware Department of Transportation
Contact: | Ralph Reeb | |
Description: | Several Delaware agencies convened to discuss a mutual interest in consolidating the State's data into an easily accessible, online enterprise system, and to develop a set of Statewide geospatial data standards. The Department of Technology and Information (DTI) created a pilot ArcGIS Online site to test how Statewide data could be published and displayed. DTI and OSPC are now working with all State agencies to develop and implement an enterprise GIS structure and formalize data maintenance processes for Delaware's ArcGIS Online site. The pilot currently allows the agencies and the public to display a range of data relating to road centerlines, boundaries, parcels, schools, land uses, sea level rise, and trail networks.
